Privacy Policy — Day by Day

In short

Day by Day does not collect, transmit, sell or share your personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. We have no servers that receive data from the app, no accounts, no advertising and no analytics.

What stays on your device

The app stores the following information only in its private storage on your phone: your counters (category, a name you may choose, start date and time, optional target), the history of past periods, optional spending estimates and per-day corrections, daily notes, your language, reminder and widget settings, your chosen theme, and the points and themes you have unlocked.

The app never sends this information anywhere. We cannot see it, access it or recover it. Deleting the app deletes it. Your phone's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup), if you have enabled it, may include it; that backup is governed by your device provider's terms.

What we do not do

• We do not require an account or sign-in.
• We do not show advertising and do not use advertising identifiers.
• We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, tracking or profiling tools.
• We do not include third-party software that collects data about you.
• The app makes no network requests of its own and works fully offline. The only exception is that tapping a link to this policy or to our terms opens it in your web browser, which is then governed by the website's own rules.

Permissions

• Notifications (optional). Only if you turn on morning or evening reminders. Reminders are created and delivered locally by your operating system; nothing is sent from a server. The text of a reminder may be visible on your lock screen. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings at any time.
• The app does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos or files.

Widgets

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets (iOS) and Home Screen widgets (Android) show information about one counter that you choose. They read the same data stored on your device. On iPhone you can hide the elapsed time on the Lock Screen in Settings. Anyone who can see your unlocked or, depending on your settings, locked screen may see what a widget shows.

Sensitive information

Your counters may relate to alcohol, nicotine, drugs or other habits, which can be sensitive. Because this information never leaves your device, we do not process it. Please protect your device with a passcode or biometric lock.

Children

Day by Day is intended for people aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children or minors and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone. If you are under 18, please do not use the app.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, we have nothing to access, correct, export or delete on our side. You are in control: you can edit or delete your data inside the app, or delete the app. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us at daybyday.support.team@gmail.com and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app collects any data, we will update this policy and describe the change before that version is released. The effective date above shows when this policy was last updated.
