Terms of Use — Day by Day
By installing or using Day by Day you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What the app is
Day by Day is a personal counter that helps you keep track of time since you stopped a habit (for example alcohol, nicotine or other substances), with optional reminders, notes, a rough estimate of money saved, and cosmetic themes. It works on your device.
2. Not medical advice
Day by Day is not a medical device, medical service or treatment, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Its texts, thoughts and estimates are general and informational and are not a substitute for professional advice.
Stopping alcohol or certain drugs suddenly can be dangerous and, in some cases, life-threatening. If you may be physically dependent, or you have symptoms such as shaking, confusion, hallucinations or seizures, seek medical help before or while you stop. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number immediately. If you are struggling emotionally, please reach out to a healthcare professional or a local crisis service.
A restart of a counter is not a failure. The app is designed to be supportive, not judgmental.
3. Estimates
Money-saved figures are rough estimates based on the numbers you enter. They are not financial, tax or accounting advice and may differ from reality.
4. Points and themes
Points are earned by opening the app (25 points at most once every six hours) and are used only to unlock cosmetic themes. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and are stored on your device only. Because data lives on your device, points and themes may be lost if you delete the app or lose the data. We cannot restore them.
5. Your data
Your content is yours. It is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for any backups you choose to make.
6. Acceptable use
Use the app for lawful, personal purposes. Do not attempt to copy, reverse engineer, resell or disrupt the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction. The app may be used only by people aged 18 or over.
7. Ownership and licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on your own devices. The app, its texts, design and artwork are owned by us or our licensors and remain protected by law. Third-party components are used under their own licences.
8. Availability and changes
The app is provided free of charge. We may change or stop the app, or these terms, at any time. When we change these terms materially we will update the effective date above.
9. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or that reminders or widgets will always appear on time. Notification and widget delivery depends on your operating system and device settings.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data stored on your device. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.
